The Eastern Bark Snake is a small slender arboreal snake. They are grey to brown in colour with black diamonds down the back of the snake. They have a light sandy-orange section from the nose, extending over the eye and down the neck.  Their bellies are mottled grey.

Vine Snakes are a mix of speckled grey and brown in colour. They have green on top of their head and a white upper lip. They have a prominent key hole shaped eye and elonaged heads. Their bellies are dirty speckled white to grey.

It’s easy to confuse the Eastern Bark Snake with the Vine Snake. The graphic below illustrates how to recognize the key differences between the two species.
