Snakes and bite marks
Misinformation doing the rounds on social media again.
Fang marks are rarely useful in diagnosing a serious snakebite and few snakes leave two distinct fang punctures as are often shown in illustrations.Quite often a single scratch is sufficient for a snake to inflict a serious bite. Illustrations like the above image are thus worthless and often inaccurate.
