A team of reptile experts has written this comprehensive but accessible account for each of the nearly 400 species included in the book, and includes information on the distribution, habitat, threats and conservation measures required for the conservation of each species. Each species is placed in one of the threat categories of the International Union for the Conservation of Nature’s (IUCN) Red List system, an internationally endorsed scientific approach to assessing the risks of extinction to species.
